Privacy, Data Transfer, and IP 

Elizabeth gave a talk on privacy and data protection laws, including topics such as the intersection of data protection and IP laws, an overview of the growing list of consumer data protection laws at the state level in the United States, and the data protections laws issued in China since 2017.   Using cross-border data transfer concerns between the US and China, Elizabeth pointed out that these laws create more than corporate compliance headache for multinational corporations--they also have real impacts on ordinary citizens.
